David Crawford is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee replacement surgery. He is also a well-respected author of book chapters dealing on the subject, as well as of numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He serves as a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Magazine and is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Association Emerging Leader, and the Alpha Omega Alpha. When he was a student, he was a member of the American Medical Student Association. 

Dr. Crawford’s book chapters, co-authored with other experts in the field, include Chapter 26, “Conversion of Unicondylar Knee Arthroplasty to Total Knee Arthroplasty” of the book, Mastering Orthopedic Techniques: Revision Knee Arthroplasty, the chapters on “Mobile Bearing Unicompartmental Knee,” “Same Day Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty,” and “Minimally Invasive Direct lateral Approach” in the Second Edition of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Orthopedics, and the chapter 184, pages 2001-2006, “Techniques and Eligibility for Same Day/Next Day Discharge of TKA” in the Sixth Edition of Insall & Scott Surgery of the Knee.

Dr. Crawford has also given notable presentations on the subject, in various locations all over the country.
